Kate's a wonderful and greatly experience costume maker -- here are her experiences making corsets with two types of boning (choosing the boning material is always a matter for debate): Cable Ties vs. standard Treslo trifold boning.

"I LOVE creating art and handmade items. Mostly I give my creations as gifts, but someday I hope to get over the anxiety of selling (or rather not selling) things"

"I have nearly completed the tudor gown based on the new Simplicity pattern 2589.
Shown here in changeable taffeta (silver/purple) with eggplant accent fashion satin. I did not make the partlet, I bought it because I adore blackwork and I wanted to steal the standing collar style and copy it into my own pattern. Joann’s was having a sale on changeable taffeta, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to experiment, now that I’m starting to get a little better at this."
